Meeting a photographer in Piazza del Duomo at the end of the 19th century certainly aroused great curiosity in passers-by. In those days, in fact, photography was still a relatively little-known means of reproduction and coming across professionals who grappled with cumbersome equipment must have been a remarkable and rare attraction.
The photographer of this shot, with the intention of shooting the Duomo and its surroundings, thus gives us an original impromptu shot, capable of offering a different point of view on the square and its assiduous visitors.
